Born in the beautiful Island of Haiti, this songstress started singing at sixteen years of age. Josée’s father is the one who discovered her hidden talents.  She won her first talent show at that age, and thereafter, her father decided to push Josée to continue what later became her passion. Josée is a singer/song writer who sings from the heart. She is a wonderful artist who could be classified as a part of the new generation. She has a beautiful voice and her last album self titled Josée is what you would call a “cross over” CD. Josée sings in English, Kreyol, and French. Her music is a blend of R&B, soft Kompa, light Jazz, and a twist of Zouk, a very colorful mix of Caribbean rhythms.

 The twelve songs on the CD are filled with nice tunes.  Cut number 6, “Lakay”, her most requested on the radi0, is a very soft and nostalgic song about Haiti, the homeland. The arrangements on this tune, written by the artist herself, are beautifully executed. Her lyrics really take you back through the wonderful memories of Haiti. Josée’s music repertoire is as versatile as it could be. Cut number 7 on the album is a funky salsa beat that keeps you moving non-stop. This album is recommended to any good music lover who enjoys a variety of melodic sounds.

Josée performed in various places such as Miami, Boston, New York, and New Jersey Performing Arts Center in 2000. After being out of the scene since 2001, Josée had decided to reach out and touch her fans again with her Caribbean flavor. Her new CD will be released in December of 2009. The way she describes the universal feelings of broken relationships are very similar to Mary J Blidge. Most influential artists to Josée are Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Cece Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Orlane (Caribbean singer) and others. Josée is determined to make her Caribbean sound noticed in the music industry as the heartfelt singer/song writer and producer that she is.
